In a prep course, you pay for material.

With The LSAT Nerds, you pay for someone’s time and attention.

A typical prep course will tell you to take five or six tests and won’t guide you through the actual mistakes you make on those tests. We know that the LSAT requires more of you. Our tutors will guide you through ten, twenty, thirty prep tests – going over all your mistakes along the way, and teaching you how to avoid them in the future.

Hear From a few of Our Recent Test Takers

I went into this most recent test with a very specific purpose - to work on RC and get my score up from where it was, at a 167, to a 170. From start to finish, LSAT nerds was there for me and provided an incredible service. When I called for a free consultation, not only did I get to talk to a real person who recommended a tutor based on my availability and needs, but who also jump-started the process by making me feel comfortable and providing helpful advice. I worked with Sael Soni and couldn’t have asked for a better tutor. Not only did he work with my crazy schedule, but he completely changed how I approached RC, which turned the section from one of my weakest into one of my strongest. He also helped me tighten the screws on other sections as well and was incredibly patient and engaging. He even helped by taking the time during our last session before I took the test to calm me down & help discuss strategies to approach the test with a clear head, which made a HUGE difference on test day. With his help, I went from a 167 into the mid-170s and I’m so grateful to him. I loved how personalized & flexible LSAT nerds was and I will be recommending it to everyone in need of a tutor!
— B.I., Fall 2022
The LSAT is a beast of a test, both physically and mentally. I, in particular, struggled with the mental aspect of the test. Through my work with Shayna, I created a regimented routine that honed in on areas where I needed additional practice and overcame the anxiety and nerves surrounding the test. I felt that the work we were doing together was really specialized for my needs and thus I was able to get the most out of this experience. She took the time to get to know me as a person and see how best I learned. All that work came proved worth it as I got my dream score. I couldn’t recommend her more.
— A.M., Fall 2022
I had tried just about everything to get my score where I wanted it to be. Self-study, the “bibles,” full-prep courses AND a tutor. It wasn’t until I got with Jacob from LSAT nerds that things started to make sense. No trademarked systems, no stock answers. Jacob tried to figure out what made sense to me so I could get the score I wanted. He was charasmatic and I could tell he spent time thinking about the stuff I was working on. I highly recommend Jacob and the LSAT nerds to get you to your goal score.
— C.O., Fall 2022
When I started tutoring with Allie, I had already taken the LSAT 4 times and had been studying for 2 years. I had used books, 7Sage, met with other tutors, but could not get to the score I believed I was capable of. Allie was able to help me past my plateau to finally achieve the score of my dreams. She could talk me through any question, no matter how hard. She was patient and clearly had a very thorough understanding of the LSAT. With her insight I finally felt like I achieved mastery with the material. My score went up 10 points after her tutoring, to a score in the mid-170s. I am so glad I had Allie as a tutor and would recommend her to anyone.
— J.S., Fall 2022
When I first took the LSAT, I studied by myself and got a 168. Thinking that I could do better, I studied for another few months and saw my score drop to a 166. I called LSAT Nerds for a 15-minute consultation, and Alex sat on the phone with me for a full 45 minutes to walk through my LSAT history and law school trajectory. He recommended Galen for my specific needs, and I couldn’t be more pleased with her as a tutor. I had a very busy summer, and she helped me strategically use my time to study the topics that would yield the greatest return. She also helped me identify weaknesses that I couldn’t see, overcome timing issues, and alleviate some of my LSAT anxiety. After just five sessions with Galen, I took the LSAT for a third time and scored a 171. I highly recommended Galen to anyone looking for that final score bump!
— A.R., Summer 2022
I started studying for the LSAT on my own, tried prep courses, and had other tutors before contacting Lsat Nerds. I had only a few weeks left till my last try for the LSAT, and I was paired with Jenna. We focused on reading comprehension and logical reasoning. Since I met her at the very end of my LSAT prep journey, there wasn’t a drastic increase compared to my most recent score but there was still an improvement. Jenna was so nice and patient. English is not my first language, and she made me feel super comfortable sharing my thoughts and interpretations. She explained things in a very clear and thought-provoking way that guided me to think. I really wish I had met her earlier!
— J.H., Spring 2022
I just received my LSAT results yesterday, and after several months of preparation and hard work enabled by the LSAT Nerds, I was very satisfied with my new score. I jumped 16 points! Kristina was my tutor and an excellent mentor. Her patience and expertise could not have been better suited to my unique learning style.
— C.V., Spring 2022
I cannot overstate what a joy it was to work with Mattea in prepping for the LSAT. I had been sparring with the LSAT for over a year and my highest score of 166 was below my practice tests, which were in the low 170s. I had previously worked with a tutor from a well-known test prep company and utilized many self-study books. Prior to working with Mattea, I was feeling so discouraged about this test, and immediately Mattea changed the game. She went above and beyond in making herself available for tutoring sessions and coming prepared with personalized questions to go over based on my strengths and weaknesses. She was able to parse out where I was going wrong and getting overwhelmed in order to provide me with strategies that really helped me tackle the test as a whole. Beyond that, she was positive, kind, and genuinely invested in my success. I landed a 177 on the test, and feel confident I couldn’t have done this without Mattea and the LSAT Nerds. If you’re looking to level up on the LSAT, look no further!
— J.G., Fall 2021
As he’d likely tell you, I could not thank Sam enough. I came into tutoring with Sam with a pretty solid grounding in the LSAT, but awful strategy. He walked me through unlearning the bad habits I picked up from other prep courses, and crucially, he simplified the exam for me. Sam was supportive, accommodating, and always up for a laugh. With Sam’s help, I eventually scored a 174. He’s the best at what he does and a pleasure to work with. I’d recommend Sam to anyone looking for an expert LSAT tutor!
— S.Q., Fall 2021
I am incredibly grateful for my time with Anna and the LSAT Nerds. Working with Anna made studying for the LSAT a truly positive experience. She has an impressive grasp of the test and could make even the most complicated questions understandable. I came into test preparation dreading logic games. However, with Anna’s framing strategies, I was able to attack games in a whole new way, often scoring -0/-2 on practice tests. I never would have thought this was possible, but Anna is truly a logic games wizard! While working on logical reasoning, Anna suggested timing techniques I never thought of trying. Using these techniques, I began finishing sections with minutes to spare, something I hadn’t been able to do before. I also really struggled to find weaknesses and gaps in arguments, but Anna guided me to start asking questions that allowed me to see them clearly.

Anna was always extremely patient with me. I never felt rushed or pressured to understand questions and she never hesitated to explain things in different ways until I understood the concepts. I felt comfortable asking questions outside of our sessions and knew she could be counted on to answer them. Anna was also a much-welcomed support system during the application process. She was willing to look over my application materials, listen to my frustrations, and provide helpful advice whenever needed.

Anna is a dedicated, kind, and caring tutor. I am beyond grateful for the time she spent with me and I can not recommend her or the LSAT Nerds more highly! I genuinely enjoyed my LSAT experience with Anna and I could not have scored in the 93rd percentile without her help!
— M.K., Fall 2021
LSATNerds has been a major turning point in my law school journey. My diagnostic score on the LSAT was 150, but after regular weekly sessions with Alex and hearing his explanations (especially for LR and LG), I was able to consistently score in the high 160s on practice tests. I supplemented my one-to-one tutoring with group sessions hosted by Wade and Sam, where I learned a lot about how to better approach LSAT questions and the law school application process. I ended up getting accepted to a T14 school on ED, and I could not have done it without the support from Alex and the LSATNerds team.
— A.F., Fall 2021
Yash is a fantastic tutor! He has a knack for breaking down complex, multi-step problems into simple and easy-to-understand parts. My score has vastly improved from a 149 to a 165, and I credit so much of my improvement to Yash. He makes himself available as a resource to his students, and he is transparent when it comes to scheduling. He is great at assessing what areas of the exam you need help with the most each session, so you can make the most of your time. He is charming and funny, which makes studying for the LSAT far more tolerable. And I can say now that I actually enjoy logic games, even though it was my lowest scoring and most challenging section previous to my tutoring sessions with Yash. He helped to make the exam less stressful come test day by checking in and ensuring me that my hard work was going to pay off. He is a wonderful advocate for his students, and I am so thankful I got to be one of them!
— H.B., Fall 2021
My experience with Olivia was amazing. Prior to working with Olivia, I had tried various prep courses that did not work with my learning style. Although I began with a basic foundation, Olivia elevated my understanding of the test within just a few sessions. Olivia had so much patience with me and gave me different test strategies to calm my test anxiety. The section I struggled with the most was reading comprehension. In working with Olivia, I was able to drastically improve this section. Olivia is very experienced and went above and beyond to make sure I was in good shape for the exam. I really appreciated that Olivia adjusted to my learning style so I was able to fully grasp the concepts and strategies which I had not experienced previously in my LSAT journey.

Thank you so much!!!!

Our History

The LSAT Nerds was founded in 2015 by attorney Josh Garfinkel. His goal was to fill a huge gap in the LSAT prep marketplace: individualized, one-on-one tutoring – not as a supplement to a course, but as a wholesale replacement. Josh started the company as a solo tutor, and word of his students’ successes spread. After CEO Wade Formo joined a couple years later, the two were able to begin expanding during Spring 2020. Currently, the company boasts a roster of over 50 elite tutors. While Josh left the company in early 2021 to pursue other endeavors, he and Wade shared many values that The LSAT Nerds proudly stands by today.

One of those key values is a passion for maximizing the investment of each one of our students. Our tutors are carefully chosen to ensure every instructor sincerely cares about the students and becomes invested in their success.

Our vision: provide a platform that pairs students with an LSAT expert from the moment they begin their preparation to the day they take the LSAT.

How we achieve this:

  • A flexible curriculum which allows tutors to pursue the individual needs of each student

  • A sustainable pricing model that places us at the lower extreme among LSAT prep providers

  • An unrivaled team of LSAT experts who sincerely care about their students’ success - selected through a rigorous screening process to ensure every tutor is prepared to deliver useful insights, build students’ confidence, and guide students to internalizing the skills vital to test-day success

TLN logo_blue_Artboard 1.png

The LSAT Nerds truly believe one-on-one tutoring is the best way to improve on the LSAT, and that the provision of such a service should be accessible and affordable. Since the beginning of our expansion in Spring 2020, we have grown into one of the preeminent LSAT preparation options. Our results speak for themselves.

When you read our testimonials, you won’t merely hear from students who got great score increases. You’ll read about how much they enjoy working with us – and we are just as proud of that as we are of the success they see on score release day.
