Our Commitment to Quality

We only hire proven LSAT experts – all of our tutors scored at least a 170 on the exam.

More importantly, each one of our tutors is carefully screened to ensure sure that they are an effective teacher: all LSAT Nerds are engaging, personable, and supportive.

Additionally, we train each one of our tutors to tackle every aspect of the LSAT. They teach out of our comprehensive curriculum, designed by our most experienced tutors to help our students master every formal and theoretical trick the LSAT throws your way.

Many of our tutors have experience delivering results. Just read our incredible testimonials to hear what our students have to say! We have recently added several tutors to our team, and we are confident that each of our new teachers is ready to make an immediate impact for their students.

On top of all this, we pay our tutors market-competitive hourly rates. How? Due to our low overhead, and the fact that we prioritize our students over our bottom line. Unlike the big LSAT prep companies, with The LSAT Nerds, you can be confident that the bulk of your payments are going to your tutor instead of paying what amounts to thousands of dollars in finders fees and administrative costs. We are confident that we offer the best deal you will find for an elite LSAT tutor.

The LSAT Nerds Scholarship Fund

The LSAT Nerds Scholarship Fund provides recipients with access to LSAT tutoring, LSAT prep resources, and law school admissions resources free of charge. This scholarship is made possible by our official pledge to set aside over five percent of our fee from each one of our sessions into a scholarship fund.

Since our formation, we have valued the idea of making LSAT tutoring accessible to students who might not be able to afford the elite level of help that we are committed to providing. We believe that elite LSAT preparation should not be available only to wealthy students. By offering these need-based scholarships, we help students who would not be able to afford high quality LSAT preparation move one step closer to achieving their goal.

How do I choose my tutor?

Our ability to pair you with a particular tutor primarily turns on availability. We do consider your preference to the extent that we can. From there, we make suggestions based on things like common interest, time zone alignment, and may even default to giving you the person with the very highest LSAT score available. We try to be as accommodating to our students as we can be, but we are also confident that every one of our tutors will deliver an outstanding experience for you.

Many of our students choose to work with a particular tutor based on some aspect of the bio that suggests common ground between the tutor and student. For example, many of our students who wish to practice public interest law eventually are drawn to Alex, who spends his days fighting for those facing eviction in housing court.

To the extent that you do not have a strong preference, we will pair you with an available tutor and do our very best to convey to you why we are excited to do so. Every one of our tutors is thoroughly screened and provided with every tool that they need to be successful as an LSAT instructor. Our success as a company has derived from our ability to hire outstanding instructors who are dedicated to your success.

Each of our instructors will approach every lesson with the mentality that it is incumbent on them to provide great instruction for the time that you have booked. But each of them is also committed to providing you a clear vision for what you should be doing between your current session and the next one. And every one of your sessions should end with some discussion of why additional sessions will be valuable and what you can expect moving forward. You should choose to continue to work with your tutor only if you are getting great value. And we believe that our tutors are uniquely equipped to do that. That is why we never obligate you to continue with your current tutor and instead allow you to pay as you go, book as you go, and set your own course for your LSAT preparation.

Do I need to book my first session right away?

In short, yes! There is a huge advantage to choosing a tutor and booking your first session.

When you do choose a tutor, you will tentatively hold the spot in that tutor’s pool of current students, which means that your tutor will work to ensure that there are times available for sessions and that they are available to work with you throughout your study process without interruption. Each of our tutors is committed to maintaining a reasonable work schedule that ensures that none of their students get anything less than the highest level of instruction at each session they book.

Do I need to commit to doing a lot of sessions?

You do not have to commit to more than one session to reserve your space with a tutor. However, you should be ready to make plans with your tutor for what you expect to accomplish in your tutoring as you get started, and that likely will mean that you will want to lay out a plan that involves anywhere from 8 to 15 sessions of tutoring.

To learn more about why this is such a wide range, please do schedule a consultation. We would be happy to talk to you about the various factors that go into this admittedly substantial difference and help you to form expectations based on your personal circumstances.

Why do your tutors have so much time available on their calendars if you are so full?

Every one of the tutors on our website is an active contributor at the LSAT Nerds. We are all working together to provide an unparalleled experience and do so as one of the largest teams of active tutors around. However, most of our team also does other work. Thus, each of us only has so many hours per week that we can dedicate to our tutoring. Despite this fact, most of us try to keep our schedules as open as possible for our current students. We want to be available and useful when we can be, and we make an effort to get our other work done while our students are hard at work doing effective studying based on our guidance.

Do all of your tutors have experience?

In short, no. At least not at teaching the LSAT. As with any company that provides LSAT preparation, we rely largely on our ability to hire the most talented young prospective lawyers available, who each bring their current LSAT expertise, earned as students who recently took the test themselves, to provide instruction that is supported by a current and complete understanding of the test. Beyond that, every one of our tutors is thoroughly screened to ensure that they have the ability to have meaningful conversations with students about the material. You will not just be lectured at. You will not be confined to a narrow set of questions that are heavily prepared. You will be working through tough material and understanding the thought processes that allowed your tutor – and will allow you – to find the right solution on test day.
